North Dakota – Lake Sakakawea

July 13 - July 16

$495/pp double

Lake Sakakawea is part of the Missouri River system and is the third largest reservoir in the U.S. Lake Sakakawea was created in 1956 after the completion of the Garrison Damn and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control, hydroelectric power, navigation & irrigation. There is 1,530 miles of shoreline with depths to 180 feet (at base of the damn). Lake Sakakawea is a fishing gem. Since the flooding not so many years ago the water levels have remained high but has stabilized and the return of the rainbow smelt has left this a thriving habitat! Northern Pike are growing larger, walleye are plentiful and small mouth bass population is growing. There is plenty of submerged structure for these fish to hangout around.
